Tourism and Operations Support

Job Overview:

The Tourism and Operations Support position is an exciting entry-level role perfect for someone who is passionate about community engagement, tourism, and providing exceptional customer service. As a key member of our team, you will assist with a variety of essential functions within the Chamber of Commerce, including supporting tourist services, assisting with event planning, selling merchandise, and handling general office and receptionist duties. This position offers great opportunity for learning and growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visitor Services: Greet and assist tourists with information, local attractions, directions, and general inquiries. Ensure a welcoming and positive experience for visitors to the area.
  • Merchandise Sales: Help with the display, promotion, and sale of local merchandise. Process transactions, maintain inventory, and assist with restocking as needed.
  • Receptionist Duties: Answer phones, greet visitors, and handle general administrative tasks including scheduling, data entry, and email correspondence.
  • Event Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of local events, including setting up, taking down, and managing logistics on the day of the event.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide excellent customer service both in person and over the phone, creating a friendly and professional environment.
  • General Office Support: Assist with daily office operations, including filing, organizing, and supporting other team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in hospitality, tourism, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working with basic office equipment (computers, phones, POS systems) and software.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required.
