Duane Huseby Farms
Wesley was raised on a farm in Camrose County that he still resides on and manages today. Wes spent much time curling as he was growing up, and in his adulthood which afforded him the opportunity to meet many great people in the local community. He volunteered with the Camrose Farmers Bonspiel and spent a couple of years on the Rose City Curling Club Board.
Wes completed a trade school Diploma in Electronics Technology from NAIT, and worked 4 years working in Electronics in Camrose. He says this was more of a hobby for as farming is his first love.He started farming at an early age but actively a part of the farming operation at 16 years old, and purchased my first half section of land about 3 years later. He farmed with his father until his passing just a few years ago. His son Austin, has joined in the farming operation and is a certified AG Technician and worked for 10 years as an AG tech in Flagstaff County before now farming along side Wes full time this past year. He has a modern farming operation that is about 3000 acres of land in Camrose County and Beaver County.
Wes is married to Sandra. They have 3 children, Austin, Madison and Brynn. Sandra also worked in the health care field as a RN for many years, and later started her own business in Camrose… Studio 49 home + design which she ran for 5 years until a great opportunity presented itself to assist their daughters in opening Strada Coffee Company & Artisan Bakey in downtown Camrose. Helping them follow their dreams. It seems to be very successful from reviews and support from the community that they are receiving.
Wes went through a recent bought with cancer, but luckily came through that fairly well and has had a good result for the last 18 months. he says, “going through a health scare makes you see thing just a bit differently and you realize not to stress the small things and appreciate the good family and friends you have.” Because of this new perspective, he feels his life is in a very good place in all aspects and is feel blessed where he is at, and feels he wants to give a bit back to the community that has been very good to him.
